for everyone
How do you describe a perfect weekend?

I have a plethora of adjectives running through my mental thesaurus and none of them seem quite adequate.

How do you describe a total experience?

I’ve often wondered how it would feel to be in a perfect setting, stepping into the pages of “House beautiful” - and now I know. I’ve often wondered how the jet set spend an evening - dancing - drinking - eating the finest foods - now I know.

I think I like it.

Three younger men, two older women.  I ask myself what we might have in common.

The men are gay.  I like that.  I didn’t have to worry about shaving my legs and I was able to walk around with my old tits hanging out of a slinky top and no one seemed to care.  I am reminded that I enjoy the company of men, men who see life as an adventure, to be lived and enjoyed.  They put life in their mouthes and taste it, take little bites and relish the flavor.

I felt free to take a chance and stretch my wild side.  They enjoy the outrageous.  I enjoy the outrageous.  And so we were outrageous.

I don’t have to waste a great deal of words on the home we are staying in.  Magnificent seems to cover it.  I suggest you check out the photos for more detail.

The weather is perfect, the mountains are beautiful and the conversation is interesting and lively.

Moe and I struggle to keep our energy at the same level as the guys.  They tend to push us a bit.  We need pushing.  It’s a good feeling.  The diversity of our life styles makes for engaging conversations and much laughter.  I’ve laughed more in three days than I have in the last three months.  At least my ribs are getting a workout.

The flight out was uneventful until we went to the baggage claim area to retrieve our luggage and poor Daniel was missing one of his bags, the one containing his clothes.  Do most men pack their shoes separate from their clothes, or is that a gay thing?  The good news, within 12 hours the bag showed up at the door, considering I was the only person in the group close to his size.

Friday by the pool was so much fun.  Can you imagine 5 adults sitting around a with fruit and yogurt on their face?   Michael mixed up the most luscious concoction of papaya and yogurt and we all did a mini facial together.  How’s that for fun?  I wasn’t sure at first whether to eat it, wear it, or douche with it.

Another exciting thing, I walked into their sliding glass door and almost knocked myself out.  I got a little mouse under one eye, and a bruised ego,  they all got a really good laugh.

One of the things I realized almost immediately, we all have the same taste in music.  A definite plus.

Friday night we went to Oceans for dinner. It was so yummy.   I met an old man at the bar, his name is Angel.  We danced and he felt me up a few times.  Hey, I get it where I can.

From there we went to The Devils Martini bar.  I danced and cut a rug with some very young latino person.   He was cute but he had to leave before midnight. He has to get up very early for his paper route.

We arrived back at the house around 1 AM, we were fairly drunk and full of cheer, only to discover, we locked ourselves out of the “House Beautiful.”

We managed to find our way to the lovely patio, where we cuddled.  I grew weary of cuddling and called a lock smith.  By 6 AM, and $150.00 later, we were all back in our beds for a 2 hours nap.  Their window now has a permeant imprint of my nose from looking longingly at my Mac sitting on the kitchen Island.

Yesterday Rich took us to Old Scottsdale and then to the Phoenician for lunch by the pool.  We returned to the house for a nap and shower, and then off to Barcelona’s.  OMG  what a wonderful restaurant and club.  The food and entertainment was most spectacular, filled with beautiful people dancing and mingling in the Arizona night air.  And guess who was there on the dance floor.. my new friend Angel... Ha ha .. we danced again and he felt me up a few more times... perfect.  At least I can still turn the head of an eighty year old playboy.

By midnight the place was packed, people shoulder to shoulder.  Moe and I excused ourselves from the throng of lovelies dressed in their Saturday night come-and-get-me finest.  We said goodbye to our most gracious host, Rich, to retreat to the quiet of his home and our P’J’s.

As I sit here and realize that this most wonderful mini vacation will end by the close of this day, I realize how fortunate I am.  I realize that life if for the living.  As a wanna-be writer, I need to approach life as a banquet of delights, a morsel of individual moments strung together to create a tapestry of sounds, smells, and emotions.  Memories stacked one on top of the other and blended together to form a lifetime.  My lifetime - rich and abundant with good friends and treasured moments together.

So to do a recap:  Lavish accommodations, superb weather, excellent food and entertainment, one laugh flowing into the next, and just great fellowship... life is divine.
